Unlike other non-surgical lipo treatments such as lipo freeze destroys fat cells. Lipo freeze works on the premise that fat cells are more sensitive to cold temperatures. As a result, fat cells are destroyed with no damage to surrounding tissue. The lipo freeze procedure delivers controlled cooling to the targeted area for localised fat reduction. The treated fat cells become frozen which leads to apoptosis (cell death). In the weeks that follow treatment, the body naturally processes the dead fat cells and removes them from the body. This process results in localised fat reduction.
After a single session, clinical studies indicate that lipo freeze is effective on between 20–40% of fat cells. Various areas of the body can be treated to include upper and lower abdomen, inner and outer thighs, backs of arms, hips and flanks, back fat, under the chin etc. As a non-surgical treatment, lipo freeze carries no downtime so clients can return to their normal everyday activities immediately after treatment.
How many treatments do patients need?
Lipo freeze has the advantage of not usually requiring a course of treatment. However, this obviously depends on the amount of fat you would like removed and the amount to begin with.
Is this procedure permanent?
The fat cells that will be crystallised through the lipo freeze procedure are absorbed by the body's natural processes. Once destroyed the same fat cells cannot grow back as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle.
How long does it take to see results? This depends on the individual, the fat thickness, and the area treated. Changes happen over a number of weeks, some patience is required as a natural process is taking place inside the body. Maximum results would be expected between 12 - 16 weeks, however some individuals begin to see changes after only 2 to 3 weeks.
